Feeding & Water Management Protocol

Commercial Feed Specifications
  • • Pellet Size: 4mm – 6mm
  • • Estimated Total Feed: 612.9 kg (approx. 41 bags of 15kg)
  • • Target Feed Conversion Ratio: 1.15 FCR
  • • Daily Feeding: 2× daily (morning & evening) based on 3% body weight
Water Quality & Exchange Protocol

Maintain continuous fresh water inflow at approximately 9.4 L/min with an unobstructed bottom-draw overflow pipe.

Target Flow Inflow: ~9.4 Litres / Minute

Agronomic Recommendations for Maximum Survival:
  • Feed recommended pellet sizes: 4mm – 6mm. Feed twice daily (morning 7:30 AM & evening 6:00 PM) at 3%–5% of body weight.

Scientific Catfish Stocking Density Rules of Thumb

Static Water Concrete/Tarpaulin

25–35 table fish per m³ (or 1 fish per 30–35 litres). Requires 50% water exchange every 48 hours to remove toxic ammonia and unconsumed metabolic wastes.

Flow-Through Systems

50–70 table fish per m³. Continuous replacement of fresh borehole or stream water prevents organic pollution and supplies steady oxygenation throughout the day.

Earthen Ponds (Surface Area)

5–10 table fish per m² of water surface area. Rely on natural phytoplankton and bottom benthic biology. Never overstock without industrial paddlewheel aeration.
